Biography
I grew up in New York, attended college at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA and moved to Alaska in 1997. In Virginia, I worked with children and adolescents in a psychiatric hospital. I graduated from Alaska Pacific University with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology in 1999, and hold a professional counselor (LPC) license in Alaska. My experience includes working in multiple settings including inpatient, residential, and outpatient. From 1999 to 2013 I worked as a clinician, and later as the clinical director of a community behavioral health agency in Alaska serving the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley communities. In this role I have provided therapy to children as young as three, adolescents, as well as adults and families. Additionally, I have provided supervision to many clinicians helping them earn their clinical licenses. Since 2007, I have been providing counseling, and consultation in private practice.
From May of 2011 until April of 2014, I continued my education completing my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at Alaska Pacific University. Since graduating with my PsyD, completed my year of post doctoral supervision under Dr. Bruce Smith and became a licensed psychologist in the summer of 2015. My dissertation was A POSITIVE CLINICAL GUIDE FOR THE TREATMENT OF JUVENILES WHO HAVE SEXUALLY OFFENDED: COMBINING THE GOOD LIVES, SELF-REGULATION, AND MINDFULLNESS MODELS.
In the fall of 2015 I again returned to school and am currently earning a post doctoral certificate in neuropsychology from Fielding Graduate Universities. This allows me to provide neuropsychological testing to children, adolescents and adults as well as consultation from a neuropsychological perspective.
